Mount Bowser is a prominent mountain of 3,655 m in the Queen Maud Mountains . It is located about 3 km south of Mount Astor at the northern end of Fram Mesa .
The area was mapped by the United States Geological Survey and aerial photography by the United States Navy between 1960 and 1964. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named the mountain after Carl James Bowser (* 1937), geologist at McMurdo Station between 1965 and 1966 and between 1966 and 1967.
