The Posey Range is a mountain range in the eastern part of the Bowers Mountains of the East Antarctic Victoria Land . It is bordered by the Smithson , Graveson , Lillie and Champness glaciers .
The area was mapped by the United States Geological Survey and aerial photography by the United States Navy between 1960 and 1962. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him in 1964 after the meteorologist Julian W. Posey (1916-2006), scientific director of the Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station in the winter of 1959.
