The Mount Dalton is a 1175 m high mountain at the Oates Coast of the East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the northwest section of the Wilson Hills it rises 10 km northwest of Thompson Peak on the eastern flank of the Matusevich Glacier .
Australian polar explorer Phillip Law sketched and photographed the mountain on February 20, 1959 as part of the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions (ANARE) on board the research vessel Magga Dan . The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia named the mountain on July 22, 1959 after Robert Frederick Martin Dalton (1907 - unknown), deputy leader of this ANARE campaign.
