Mount Elliot is a 1500 m high mountain in the north of the East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the Anare Mountains, it rises around 8 km south of Yule Bay between the Kirkby Glacier and the O'Hara Glacier .
In the approximate position of this mountain, the British polar explorer James Clark Ross sighted a summit in February 1841 during his Antarctic expedition, which lasted from 1839 to 1843, and named it. It is named after Rear Admiral George Elliot (1784–1863), then in command of the station at the Cape of Good Hope in South Africa.
