Mount Emily is a 3,048 m high mountain in the Antarctic Ross Dependency . It rises as a crag 3 km north of Mount Cecily in the Grosvenor Mountains of the Transantarctic Mountains .
The mountain was discovered during the Nimrod Expedition (1907-1909) under the direction of the British polar explorer Ernest Shackleton , but initially erroneously assigned to the Dominion Range . Mount Emily is separated from this by the Mill Glacier . Shackleton named the mountain after his wife Emily Dawson-Lambton Shackleton (1868–1936).
