Mount Ewart is a 213 m hill in the north of Black Island in the Antarctic Ross Archipelago . It rises on the northwest shore of Lake Cole and 2.5 km west of Mount Melania .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him in 1999 by the New Zealand geologist Anthony E. Ewart from the New Zealand Geological Survey in Lower Hutt , who from 1964 to 1965 together with James William Cole from the Victoria University of Wellington , the geology of Brown Peninsula , from Black Island and Cape Bird on Ross Island .
