Mount Fairweather is a 1865 m high and prominent mountain in the Antarctic Ross Dependency . In the Queen Maud Mountains it rises at the head of the Somero Glacier and 6 km northeast of Mount Schevill .
The southern group of the New Zealand Geological Survey Antarctic Expedition (1963-1964) named it after the unusually good weather they encountered while exploring the area around the mountain.
