The Mount Forbes is 3617 m (according to other sources 3612 m ) Height of the eighth-highest mountain in the Canadian Rockies . It is located 18 km southwest of the Saskatchewan River in Banff National Park , where it is the highest mountain. James Hector named it after Edward Forbes in 1859 .
In 1902 the first ascent was made by J. Norman Collie , James Outram , Hugh EM Stutfield, George M. Weed, Herman Woolley with the mountain guide Christian Kaufmann.
