The Mount Fordell is a 1,670 m high mountain in the West Antarctic Ellsworth Land . In the Heritage Range of the Ellsworth Mountains, it rises in the southwest section of the Marble Hills .
The mountain was named in 1966 by the Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names in memory of William D. Fordell, a lieutenant in the US Navy , who on February 2, 1966 in a plane crash with the Douglas LC-47J " Spirit of McMurdo " the Ross Ice Shelf died.
