Mount Gale is a mountain in the north of the East Antarctic Victoria Land . It rises as the northern extension of the Frecker Ridge ridge in the Anare Mountains on the south side of the confluence of the Ludvig and Kirkby glaciers .
The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia (ANCA) named the mountain after D'Arcy Thomas Gale (* 1911), hydrograph during a research trip of the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions on the ship Thala Dan , with which the coast off the mountain was explored in 1962 .
