Mount Gimber is an icy mountain in the far west of Thurston Island off the Eights coast of west Antarctic Ellsworthland . In the Walker Mountains it rises 800 m southeast of Landfall Peak .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him in 2003 after Harry Meeker Stuart Gimber (1909-1999), captain of the destroyer USS Brownson in Operation Highjump (1946-1947) of the United States Navy .
