Mount Hancox is a very distinctive and at 3,245 m after Mount Riddolls the second highest mountain of the Victory Mountains in East Antarctica Victoria Land . It is located 9.5 km southeast of Mount Burton and towers over the northern edge of the Malta Plateau .
It was named by the geological team that examined the Mariner glacier in the New Zealand Geological Survey Antarctic Expedition (1966–1967) . It is named after Graham T. Hancox, senior geologist of this group.
