Mount Josephine is a 487 m high mountain with prominent rocky outcrops in the West Antarctic Marie-Byrd-Land . It rises 10 km southeast of Bowman Peak in the Alexandra Mountains .
It was discovered during an overflight on December 5, 1929 during the first Antarctic expedition (1928–1930) of the American polar explorer Richard Evelyn Byrd . He named the mountain in the course of his second Antarctic expedition (1933-1935) after Josephine Clay Ford (1923-2005), daughter of Edsel Ford , the then President of the Ford Motor Company and sponsor of both research trips.
