Mount Leech is a mountain in the center of Thurston Island off the Eights coast of West Antarctic Ellsworthland . In the Walker Mountains, it rises five miles northwest of Mount Hubbard .

Its position was first determined from aerial photographs taken by the United States Navy in December 1946 during Operation Highjump (1946–1947). The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it after the US entomologist Robert E. Leech, who as part of the United States Antarctic Program 1959-1960 studies on insect deposits in the regions of the Ross Sea of, Bellingshausen Sea and the Amundsen Sea undertook .
