Mount Lowe is a double peaked mountain in Coatsland, East Antarctica . It rises 990 m (according to the UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee 910 m ) high on the southern flank of the mouth of the Blaiklock Glacier in the western part of the Shackleton Range .
It was mapped in 1957 by participants in the Commonwealth Trans-Antarctic Expedition (1955–1958) under the direction of British polar explorer Vivian Fuchs . It is named after the New Zealand mountaineer George Lowe (1924-2013), who was a photographer on the team on this expedition who managed to cross the Antarctic continent by land for the first time.
