Mount Martin is a 1360 m high mountain on the Wilkins coast of the Palmerland on the Antarctic Peninsula . With prominent rocky outcrops on its southeast flank, it rises immediately north of the head end of the Anthony Glacier .
The mountain lies on the southern edge of the operational area of the British Graham Land Expedition (1934-1937) under the direction of the Australian polar explorer John Rymill . Aerial photographs were taken in 1940 during the United States Antarctic Service Expedition (1939–1941). Scientists from the American Ronne Antarctic Research Expedition (1947–1948) made additional aerial photographs in 1947 , who also carried out on-site measurements together with the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey . The US polar explorer Finn Ronne named the mountain after the electrical engineer Orville Martin, who helped with the procurement and deployment of radio equipment for the expedition.
