Mount Pálsson is a massive, striking and 1190 m high mountain on the Bowman coast of Graham Land on the Antarctic Peninsula . It rises at the northern end of Whirlwind Inlet between the Flint and Demorest glaciers .
Aerial photos were taken during the United States Antarctic Service Expedition (1939–1941). The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1974 after the Icelandic naturalist Sveinn Pálsson (1762-1840), a pioneer of glaciology in Iceland .
