Mount Petras is a 2865 m high and prominent mountain in the shape of a ridge in the west Antarctic Marie-Byrd-Land . It rises 10 miles southeast of Mount Flint in the McCuddin Mountains .
Scientists of the United States Antarctic Service Expedition (1939–1941) discovered it during an overflight between 14 and 15 December 1940. It is named after Theodore Argyrios Petras (1911–2004) of the United States Marine Corps , pilot of this flight.
