Mount Pierre ( French Mont Pierre ) is a 2200 m high mountain in the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . In the Queen Fabiola Mountains it rises immediately north of Mount Goossens .
Participants in a Belgian Antarctic expedition lasting from 1959 to 1961 discovered it on October 7, 1960. Expedition leader Guido Derom (1923–2005) named the mountain after Michel Pierre, aircraft mechanic for the two aircraft used for reconnaissance flights on this research trip. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names transferred the French name to English in 1966.
