Mount Rhamnus is a 865 m high mountain on the Fallières coast of Graham Land in the north of the Antarctic Peninsula . It rises 3 km northeast of Mount Nemesis on the north bank of the Neny Fjord . When viewed from the west, it appears as a snow-covered pyramid.
Participants in the British Graham Land Expedition (1934-1937) led by the Australian polar explorer John Rymill in 1936 made the first measurements of the mountain . Further measurements are carried out in 1947 by the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey , which named it after the name of the neighboring Mount Nemesis. It is named after Rhamnus , cult site of the goddess Nemesis from Greek mythology .
