Mount Riga State Park is a state park in the US state of Connecticut in the Salisbury community . It is located on the highest mountain that is entirely within the Connecticut area.
geography
The Mount Riga State Park covers 112 hectares (276 acres) on the slopes of Bear Mountain . This rises to 701 m (2300 ft) above sea level . You can climb from the park area to the summit along the Appalachian Trail . There is a stone pyramid that provides good views of areas in Connecticut and the nearby states of Massachusetts and New York . Streams that cross the park are Brassi Brook and Ball Brook , with smaller tributaries that initially flow into other streams. They drain to the Housatonic River .
free time activities
The park offers opportunities for hiking and hunting. The Bear Mountain Trail is a popular hiking trail.
