Mount Shute is a 2070 m high mountain in the north of the East Antarctic Victoria Land . It rises 22.5 km southeast of Austin Peak in the Mirabito Range of the Concord Mountains .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it using geodetic surveys and aerial photographs from the United States Navy from 1960 to 1963. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1970 after Larry R. Shute, meteorologist for the United States Antarctic Research Program at Hallett Station between 1963 and 1964.
