Mount Skottsberg is a 503 m high mountain on the north coast of South Georgia in the South Atlantic . It rises southeast of Stenhouse Peak and south of Camp Peak on the Thatcher Peninsula . It serves as a landmark for orientation on the way from Grytviken to the Carr Valley .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 2015 after the Swedish botanist Carl Johan Fredrik Skottsberg (1880–1963), participant in the Swedish Antarctic Expedition (1901–1903) under Otto Nordenskjöld . On this research trip, Skottsberg camped in the neighboring Maiviken Bay in order to explore and map the surrounding area.
