Mount Sones is a mountain in the East Antarctic Enderbyland . It rises 3 km west of Mount Reed on the northern flank of the Beaver Glacier in the Tula Mountains .

It was mapped using aerial photographs taken by members of a team on the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions in 1956. The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia (ANCA) named the mountain after Frederick John Sones (1886-1967), British chef of the RSS Discovery on the British Australian and New Zealand Antarctic Research Expedition (BANZARE, 1929-1931) under the direction of the Australian polar explorer Douglas Mawson .
