Mount Reed is a mountain in the East Antarctic Enderbyland . It rises 3 km east of Mount Sones on the northern flank of the Beaver Glacier in the Tula Mountains .
It was mapped using aerial photographs taken by members of a team on the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions in 1956. The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia (ANCA) named the mountain after John Edward Reed (1886 – unknown), British crew member of the RSS Discovery on the British Australian and New Zealand Antarctic Research Expedition (BANZARE, 1929–1931) under the direction of the Australian polar explorer Douglas Mawson .
