Mount Sugartop is a striking and partially snow-capped mountain in the center of South Georgia . It rises 8 km northwest of Mount Paget in the Allardyce Range . At 2323 m , it is the fourth highest mountain in South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands .
For a long time the mountain was marked on maps under the name Sugarloaf Peak . In the course of a survey by the South Georgia Survey in the years from 1951 to 1952, the name was changed to the current form, as this supposedly corresponds to the locally established name.
