Mountjoy Castle ( Irish Caisleán Mhuinseo ) is a ruined castle in the village of Mountjoy in County Tyrone, Northern Ireland on a hill above Lough Neagh . Charles Blount, 1st Earl of Devonshire and 8th Baron Mountjoy had it built in 1602, but it was partially burned down in 1643. It is a two-story brick building , the ground floor of which is clad with stone. A central, rectangular block is surrounded by four spear-shaped towers with loopholes. The northwest tower has partially collapsed and the western curtain wall destroyed. The entrance was on the south side of the eastern curtain wall. Some wide windows are installed on the upper floor.

The ruin is a State Care Historic Monument in Town Country of Magheralamfield in District Mid Ulster .
