Movin ' (English for about: " moving " or "in motion") is the second studio album by American rock singer Jennifer Rush , which was released in October 1985.

background

After the success of the worldwide hit The Power of Love from their debut album, the follow-up album Movin 'was also a great success. It went straight to number 1 on the album charts in Germany and Scandinavia . In Germany, the album was number 1 in the album charts for 14 weeks from November 1985 to February 1986, was the most successful album of 1986 and was awarded triple platinum. In the UK , however, the album only reached number 32. The first single to be released internationally was Destiny , which reached high chart positions in some countries, but only barely made it into the top 100 in the UK charts.

In Germany, Destiny made it to the top five and reached number 4. The second single, the ballad If You're Ever Gonna Lose My Love, also sold well in Europe. Other titles include the electro-pop influenced cover version of Stevie Wonder's song Yester-Me, Yester-You, Yesterday and Ave Maria , which was only released as a single in 1991. In the wake of Movin ' success, Jennifer Rush's first album also reached high chart positions again; In November 1985, both LPs were simultaneously among the top three positions in the German album charts. For most of the songs, Jennifer Rush had collaborated on both the music and the lyrics.
