Requests

Inquiries about Alemannic and the meaning of Alemannic words are made from culture, science and society. These are clarified in dialogue with the management in Freiburg.

Publication of Alemannic literature

To promote the Alemannic language, the Alemannic dictionary, the Alemannic songbook and the Alemannic pocket songbook were published.

The library

The library comprises around 900 Alemannic books with a focus on the Baden region . But there are also books from the Alemannic-speaking areas of Switzerland, Alsace and Vorarlberg. A large part of the fund are books that were brought in for review by Alemannic authors.

Community project dialect in school

The dialects of Franconian, Swabian and Alemannic are to be imparted to the students in Baden-Württemberg through the project Dialect in Schools . School classes and working groups can invite writers, cabaret artists and musicians to a double lesson in dialect. The main themes of the artists are described in the brochure "Dialect in School". The different colors of the dialect and the colloquial language are experienced as a cultural enrichment of High German. Around 50 dialect speakers are involved every year. The organizational processing takes place via the Muettersproch-Gsellschaft e. V., co-organizer is the association "schwäbische mund.art" e. V. in Herrenberg.

Johann-Peter-Hebel-Medal

Since 1991 the regional group Hegau , with 600 members the strongest regional group of the Muettersproch-Gsellschaft, has been awarding the Johann-Peter-Hebel-Medal every year to personalities who have made a special contribution to the Alemannic dialect .

Further development

In addition to the work of the regional groups on site, working groups are formed to further develop topics such as poets, dialect theater and new media. Events are also organized for changing locations in the Alemannic language area.
