Mugison

Mugison (actually Örn Elías Guðmundsson ; born September 4, 1976 ) is an Icelandic musician and singer who usually appears as a one-man band. He's recently toured with a whole band under the name Mugison. Mugison studied music production in London .

In 2004 Mugison received the Icelandic Music Prize. The album Mugimama, Is This Monkey Music? was chosen as the best album and the song Murr Murr as the best song.

Mugison got his nickname while he was in Malaysia with his father Muggi (Muggur) . His father is a karaoke singer . Since the audience had problems pronouncing his Icelandic name, he was given the name Mugison , which means "the son of Muggis" in Icelandic.

Mugison ran for the Björt framtíð party in the constituency of Norðvesturkjördæmi in the 2013 general election in Iceland for Althing . Björt Framtíð could not win any seats in his constituency.
