doping
In 2014, after winning the bronze medal in the sprint at the Malaysia Games , Sahrom tested positive for the substance dexamethasone , which is banned in competitive sport, and was banned from the Malaysian Cycling Federation for 18 months. In May 2015 the ban was reduced to twelve months, so that Sahrom was allowed to compete again from June 1st. The reason for the reduction in the penalty was that the athlete had been notified of the laboratory results too late.
