Muhammad al-Munsif Bey (also: Moncef Bey ; * March 4, 1881 ; † September 1, 1948 in Pau , France ) was 1942–1943 Bey of Tunis and the penultimate representative of the Husainid dynasty .

Moncef Bey is now recognized as one of the main figures in the nationalist movement that later led to Tunisia's independence ( 1956 ). He was deposed on May 7, 1943 by the Forces françaises libres von de Gaulle on charges of being a sympathizer of the Vichy regime and replaced by Lamine Bey . His short reign was marked by the fight against corruption and the defense of the persecuted Jews .
