Multinational Aircrew Electronic Warfare Tactics Facility Polygons
The Multinational Aircrew Electronic Warfare Tactics Facility Polygone (MAEWTF POLYGONE) is a training facility for electronic combat located in Germany and France . The trinational facility is operated jointly by the German Air Force , the French Armée de l'air and the United States Air Force .
tasks
The main task of the facility is to train aircraft crews in the use of their equipment for electronic combat, especially in threat and combat situations with anti-aircraft missiles . With fixed positions in Germany and France (until 2014), the system is able to recreate almost realistic combat simulations. Anti-aircraft missile systems that were used by the Soviet Army at the time are also used at the facility . These were taken over by the National People's Army of the GDR during German reunification .

The exercise area covers about 20,000 km² with a north-south extension of 240 km and a west-east extension of 140 km and extends across borders in Germany over parts of Rhineland-Palatinate , the Saarland and in France over parts of Alsace and Lorraine .

Air traffic management coordination
For civil-military air traffic management coordination , the software products DMAR and ADMAR 2000 were used until 2005 , which were then replaced by the product CIMACT .
