Murghob ( Tajik Мурғоб , in Arabic script:مرغاب; also Murghab of Russian Мургаб ) is a village in eastern Tajikistan ( Central Asia ).

Murgobh is located in the autonomous province of Berg-Badachschan , in the high mountains of the Pamir . It has about 7000 inhabitants. The village lies on the Murgab (Murghob) river. The bridge that crosses the river at Murghob stands at an altitude of 3612  m above sea ​​level ; the place is a few meters higher on the southern bank. The Pamir Highway leads over the bridge , which among other things connects Chorugh (Chorog) with the Kyrgyz city ​​of Osh through the barren high mountain landscape of the Pamir.
