The Museum of the City of Alzey is a local museum in Alzey .

The focus is on cultural history and natural history . The permanent exhibition is divided into three areas:

  • City and regional history
  • Prehistory and early history
  • Geology and paleontology

Museum building

The museum is located in the building of the old city hospital at the intersection of Hospitalstrasse and Antoniterstrasse. It is a Renaissance building with a stair tower, marked 1580. The north-facing baroque portal bears the year 1747, the south-facing 1748. The mansard roof and the tower dome are built according to the baroque model. The building that defines the street scene is a cultural monument due to the Rhineland-Palatinate Monument Protection Act .
