history

The Museum of Local Lore and History was founded in 1976. The first exhibits were exhibited in a half-timbered house with an extension and former administration pavilions. In the 1980s, the gap between the half-timbered house and the administration pavilions was closed with a hall in which the many large devices from the agriculture collection could finally be housed in a stylish manner. As the pavilions were getting on in years, the city of Dietzenbach decided to build a new one. The groundbreaking ceremony for this took place in 1998. On the Hessentag in 2001 in Dietzenbach, the new premises were presented to the public.
