Music Video Interactive (MVI) is a further development of the audio CD . The DVD -based image and sound carrier format was developed by the Warner Music Group as a result of the collapse in CD sales and introduced in the USA in 2007.

On the digital data carrier, which can be played with standard DVD players , the respective recording is in improved sound quality (48kHz / 24-bit stereo format , partly also surround sound stereo or hi-res surround ) with numerous additional interactive features such as music videos , ringtone editors and Remix - software , bonus tracks , lyrics, screen savers , photo galleries, instant messenger -Icons or download permission for bonus tracks, additional video or artist name updates . In any case, the data carrier contains the complete album in MP3 format so that it can be transferred by the consumer to digital music players (e.g. MP3 players or MiniDisc players ) or writable CDs for conventional CD players.
