Görlitz Music School
The Görlitz Music School is a public music school in Görlitz . It is named after the composer and conductor Johann Adam Hiller .
history
The Lusatian Conservatory was handed over on June 14, 1939; the municipal music school Görlitz was opened. In 1951, the folk music school was re-established in the rooms of the 10th high school. Contacts with Poland and the Czech Republic have been maintained since 1963 , so that after ten years a German-Polish friendship orchestra was founded. In 1977 the dance music department was established. In 1970 the music school played a pioneering role in early musical education in the GDR. In 1992 the Europera Orchestra was founded. In 1996 the city music school becomes a registered association; The sponsoring association is the music school "Johann Adam Hiller" e. V. Goerlitz. The club's chairman is currently Octavian Ursu . In 2009 an orchestra sponsorship “tutti pro” was established between the New Lusatian Philharmonic and the German-Polish Youth Symphony Orchestra. The music school has hosted the Görlitz / Zgorzelec international piano competition since 2002.
Former members and teachers
