List of apple varieties

The nutmeg is a very old table apple and should be classified between autumn and winter apples.

The Muskatrenette variety probably originally came from France or Holland. It was grown in England before 1750. Its Cox- like aroma is due to its close relationship with Cox. The Cox Orangenrenette is a seedling of Ribston Pepping , this is a seedling of the Muskatrenette. The tree is moderately robust. The variety is too weak for rootstocks that remain small ; Strong seedlings are better. It is only suitable as a scattered fruit in favorable soil and climatic conditions. The fruits are ready to eat from November to February.
