Mustafa Atici (born October 2, 1969 in Elbistan , Turkey ) is a Swiss politician ( SP ).

Life

Atici attended primary school in Elbistan, secondary school in Gaziantep and grammar school in Istanbul . From 1987 to 1989 he began studying industrial engineering at Gazi University in Ankara . In 1992 he emigrated to Basel as a student . After arriving in Switzerland, he studied economics at the University of Basel from 1992 to 1995 and completed a Masters degree at the European Institute of the University of Basel , which he completed in 1998.

Mustafa Atici is a self-employed entrepreneur . He opened a Turkish fast food shop in Basel in the late 1990s. He then founded other companies, of which he is still managing director today.

Atici is married and has two children.

politics

After working as a social democrat in Turkey, he joined the SP in 2001 in Basel. In 2004 he became a member of the cantonal school inspectorate. In 2005 he was elected to the Grand Council of the Canton of Basel-Stadt and confirmed in 2009. Since 2005 he has been a member of the Finance Committee of the Grand Council. On May 9, 2015 he was elected President of the SP Migrants.

Its main political themes are SMEs , early intervention and integration policy .
