Muzaffargarh ( Punjabi , Urdu مظفر گڑھ) is a city in the southwest of the Punjab province in Pakistan with approx. 210,000 inhabitants (as of 2017). Muzaffargarh has been the capital of the district of the same name since 1648 . It lies between the Chenab and Indus rivers . The districts of Multan and Khanewal are to the east. The next big city is Multan. Muzaffargarh was founded in the 16th century.

The area is known for its mangoes and nuts.
