Mx1 ( English Interferon-induced GTP-binding protein Mx1 , Interferon-induced GTP-binding protein Mx1 ', synonym MxA ) is a GTPase and a resistance factor against RNA viruses , in particular those having a genome of negative polarity as the influenza virus A .
properties
The gene expression of Mx1 is interferons induced type I and III, for example. B. during infection with influenza viruses . The Mx1 gene occurs in one to three copies in all vertebrates, with the exception of toothed whales . Presumably Mx1 binds to the ribonucleoprotein . Mx1 forms circular oligomers around liposomes .
