Mykhaylo Wolodymyrowytsch Ochendowskyj (* 27. October 1973 in Dubăsari , Moldova ) was as chairman of the Central Election Commission of Ukraine head of agency a top national authority of Ukraine .

In 1997 Ochendowskyj graduated with honors from the Institute for International Relations of the Taras Shevchenko University in Kiev with a degree in international law . Since 1991 he has worked in various legal functions, including as head of the legal department and vice-president of the National Television Company of Ukraine .

On February 17, 2004, he was elected by the Verkhovna Rada as a member of the Central Electoral Commission and on July 6, 2013, he became chairman of the commission , succeeding Volodymyr Shapoval . He is a member of the Ukrainian Association for International Law and was awarded the title “Honored Lawyer of Ukraine” on June 25, 2010 . Ochendowskyj is married and has three daughters.

On June 27, 2015 Ochendowskyj received the order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise 5th grade, which led to violent reactions from politicians and the public. On September 20, 2018, he was dismissed as head of the Central Election Commission.
