mydirtyhobby is an online community for pornographic content with a focus on so-called amateurs in the form of videos, images and webcams.
At the beginning of 2015, the website was among the 700 most viewed websites in Germany and is the most popular home page for amateur films. mydirtyhobby.de belongs to the Mindgeek group, which was owned by Fabian Thylmann under the name Manwin until 2013 , who then sold his shares in the company to management.
A free registration, as originally, is no longer possible. Before you can write messages or access content, you have to buy an internal currency in the form of “Dirtycents” that is paid for with real money; the minimum bet is 5 euros.
General
The members of mydirtyhobby include amateurs as well as former porn actors such as Vivian Schmitt or Emma Starr. The website offers members, among other things, the possibility of personal contact through chat and instant messaging .
As of February 2015, there are more than 350,000 member uploaded videos and 3.77 million images on the site; As of mid-August 2020, according to the provider, there were 519,000 videos and 5,048,000 images.

At the end of 2011 a calendar was published with pictures of various amateurs.
In 2012 Mydirtyhobby sponsored a sports car team, in 2015 the René Schwuchow Show was supported. In 2012 there were two portals with the same content, mydirtyhobby.com and mydirtyhobby.de. The age and identity verification required for porn sites in Germany was only carried out on the .de site, and the .com site, which is also available in Germany, did not have these checks. The .com page in Germany now redirects to .de. All porn videos are editorially checked before publication, the amateur actors also receive scripts for their porn films as support. In addition to amateur actors, prostitutes are also registered as actors. It was criticized that the “boundaries between a porn website, shooting with fans and pimping would become blurred” because the chats on mydirtyhobby.com are also used as an opportunity to initiate contact between suitors and prostitutes. The performers will receive 25% of the revenue generated from the photos and videos. Of the more than 6,000 actors, only a few hundred people were able to make a living from the income generated. Only individuals receive more than 25% of the income.
Since November 8, 2019, MyDirtyHobby has been publishing its own podcast called "Dirty Talk" on Spotify , Deezer , Soundcloud and Apple Podcasts. In the episodes you can hear interviews with amateur porn actors, which allow a glimpse behind the scenes.
In 2020 the Commission for Youth Media Protection took action against popular and high-reach porn portals. These include Youporn, Pornhub and Mydirtyhobby, which are backed by one and the same company. According to the KJM, the websites would violate the State Treaty on the Protection of Young People in the Media because they made pornography freely accessible. The websites would not ensure that minors and children do not have access.
