Mykola Mykolajowytsch Sachno-Ustymowytsch ( Ukrainian Микола Миколайович Сахно-Устимович , Russian Николай Николаевич Сахно-Устимович Nikolai Nikolaevich Sachno-Ustimowitsch * 1863 in Poltava Governorate , Russian Empire ; † 14. December 1918 in Kiev , Ukrainian State ) was a Ukrainian politician.

Life

Mykola Sachno-Ustymowytsch's father was a wealthy landowner in the Poltava Governorate and came from an old Cossack family. Mykola graduated as a specialist engineer-technologist. In 1917 he became a member of the General Cossack Council of the Ukrainian Free Cossacks, an organization within the Ukrainian national movement.

Mykola Sachno-Ustymowytsch was a member of the Ukrainian Party of Socialist Federalists ( Українська партія соціалістів-федералістів (УПСФ) ). He was involved in the overthrow of the Central Council of the Ukrainian People's Republic on April 29, 1918 by Pavlo Skoropadskyj and took over the leadership of the Council of Ministers of the Ukrainian State (Hetmanat) as an ataman . Together with Skoropadskyj, he signed the Law on the Temporary System of Government of Ukraine . Since his party was not ready to participate in the formation of the government, he resigned on April 30th and Mykola Wassylenko took over the office temporarily.

Sakhno-Ustymovytsch died in street fighting in Kiev during the uprising against the hetmanate in the last weeks of 1918.
