The larvae of Myopa buccata are endoparasitoids of various sand bees of the genus Andrena , including Andrena scotica . The female flies place an egg on the abdomen of a sand bee. The hatched larva burrows into the host's abdomen and feeds on its host's hemolymphs and internal organs.
