Myrna Dell , born Marilyn Adele Dunlap (born March 5, 1924 in Los Angeles , California - † February 11, 2011 in Studio City , Los Angeles, California) was an American actress .

Life

Myrna Dell was born as Marilyn Adele Dunlap . She began her career as a show girl with the Earl Carroll Revue . She developed her stage name from her own name by taking the pet form of Marilyn, leaving out her family name and choosing the last name of her pseudonym from the short form of her middle name. After signing a contract with MGM , she appeared in minor roles in such films as The Hell of Oklahoma , Thirty Seconds About Tokyo and The Spiral Staircase . From 1949 she was under contract with RKO Pictures and starred in films such as Venus on the Beach and Radar Secret Police . She gained greater fame in her career primarily through her selection of roles in the Western . Before she ended her acting career with a final role in the Billy Wilder- directed comedy Buddy Buddy , she played regularly in television series from the late 1950s.

Dell passed away on February 11, 2011 at the age of 86 in their Studio City home.
