Mythodrama

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

When Mythodrama is a group therapy method which the Swiss psychologist Allan Guggenbühl was developed. It is based on the psychodrama Jacob Levy Morenos and the analytical psychology Carl Gustav Jung . In the mythodrama, the idea is implemented that human behavior is also controlled by collective processes and is not just the result of their personal biography, their will or the expression of their personality.

Mythodrama is used in Switzerland and Sweden in interventions in school classes, in adult education and in group therapy for children and adolescents. Since 2008, the mythodrama has also been used in Georgia in the treatment of war-traumatized children.

In England , Richard Olivier's mythodrama is used as a method of organizational development and in leadership seminars. His approach focuses on the choice and staging of self-chosen roles from a drama by William Shakespeare .
