history

The NÖSIWAG was founded in 1962 by the state of Lower Austria as Niederösterreichische Siedlungswasserbau Ges. M. b. H. was founded in Maria Enzersdorf Südstadt.

In 2001, NÖSIWAG was sold to EVN after it had shown interest. The second largest water supply company in Austria changed hands for 1.2 billion Schillings (around 87 million euros) and became evn wasser Gesellschaft mbH as a new division of the Lower Austrian energy supplier.

The company operates numerous elevated tanks and thus supplies over half a million residents with drinking water.

In the meantime, EVN Wasser is supplying a total of 567,000 residents with drinking water in 2019, making it the second largest water supplier in Austria.

Franz Dinhobl has been the technical director since 2005 .
