The Nöttinger Heide also Nöttinger Viehweide and Badertaferl is a nature reserve in the Upper Bavarian town of Geisenfeld .
history
The typical heather landscape was already characterized by intensive grazing in the Middle Ages. Until the secularization in 1803, the area was owned by the Geisenfeld Monastery . A statutory ordinance designated the Nöttinger Heide in 1943 together with the Badertaferl as a nature reserve with an area of around 78 hectares. In 1986 the area was extended to the west by the Schacherbruck state forest and now covers around 150 hectares.
